Born in Port Huron and raised in a hard-working professional family.
Married high school sweetheart Susan in 1978.
Set roots in Rochester Hills in 1989, raising a family of two children and now proud grandparents of six.
Resident and small business owner since 1989.
Founded Backus Payne, an independent agency specializing in medical liability insurance, in 2000.
Active member of St. Andrew Parish, serving as a Cantor since 1992.

Over 22 years of contributing musically to local weddings, funerals, and charity benefit concerts in the Rochester area.
Board Member of the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester from 2016 to 2018.
Active involvement in fundraisers for Angel's Place and Neighborhood House.
Supporter of various community causes since 1993.
